The Emperor’s Cup Whitewater Series: Moose River Race From Agers past Crystal
Saturday, October 13, 2 PM – 5 PM • Lyons Falls, NY

If you plan on spectating, bring waterproof shoes and be prepared to hike upstream from the takeout starting at the yellow gate on Shibley Rd and follow the flagging tape. This will take you to the best, unobstructed view of Crystal Rapid.
The Moose has four whitewater sections:
Middle Branch (II-III with one optional, portageable IV called "Nelson's Falls")
Middle (III, all drops are optional, portageable)
Lower (III-IV, all drops are optional, portageable)
Bottom (IV-V, top four have optional, portageable drops, bottom four are not optional)

From the ashes is born a new event series to continue New York’s legendary whitewater racing legacy. 2018 will feature an expanded schedule, short and long boat race classes, and freestyle events. Our pursuit is to award the cup to the best all-around paddler each year.
The MOOSE RIVER RACE is the final race in the Emperor’s Cup Series. Headquarters for the Moose River Race will be at Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company on Rt. 28 in Old Forge.
The top 10 paddlers in each event will be awarded points which will be added to their annual points total. The paddler with the highest points total at the end of the year will win a place on the Emperor’s Cup. The cup will be kept on display at Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company with the champion announced at the Moosefest party in October of each year.
